The Portfolio Analyst is a front-office investment role that supports portfolio managers in the research, portfolio construction, implementation, and monitoring of multi-asset portfolios and derivative-based strategies. The role is designed for a quantitatively oriented investor with strong coding skills, a passion for global markets, and the ability to translate macro and cross-asset insights into robust analytical outputs. This role is based in our Toronto office, with an expectation of four days per week in office and one remote day per week, subject to business needs. What will you do? Support daily portfolio implementation, rebalancing, and trade preparation across pooled funds, ETFs, fixed income instruments, and derivatives. Conduct quantitative and fundamental analysis to support tactical and strategic asset allocation decisions across equities, fixed income, currencies, commodities, and alternatives. Conduct structured research and analysis under senior guidance to test factors, evaluate process enhancements, and improve portfolio implementation efficiency Assist in implementing and maintaining quantitative models, portfolio construction tools, and rebalancing processes across equity portfolios. Build, maintain, and improve analytical tools, dashboards, and recurring reports for portfolio positioning, attribution, risk, exposure monitoring, and scenario analysis. Assist with backtesting, signal evaluation, and model validation for top-down and systematic investment processes. Work with PMs, trading, operations, and technology partners to improve workflow efficiency, data quality, and operational robustness. Use approved AI-enabled tools to accelerate research, coding, testing, and documentation while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with firm policies. What do you need to succeed? 0-3 years of experience in investment research, portfolio analytics, risk, or multi-asset investing. Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Strong Python skills are required. Working knowledge of statistics, time-series analysis, portfolio analytics, and financial markets. Strong interest in macroeconomics, asset allocation, and cross-asset investing. High attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and strong communication skills. Preferred Skills: Experience with SQL, VBA, MATLAB, or R is an asset. Progress toward the CFA charter is preferred. Experience with Bloomberg and institutional portfolio/risk platforms (e.g., Aladdin, Charles River) is an asset. What's in it for you?
