As a Team Lead at Kyndryl, you'll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. There's never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You'll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You'll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations for Mainframe (Batch/Console), Tech Support, and iSeries.
  • Manage shift schedules, staffing, and LPAR/batch coverage.
  • Act as lead during Sev1/Sev2 incidents; drive SWAT calls and resolution.
  • Conduct status calls, turnover meetings, and participate in change management.
  • Serve as primary customer contact; handle escalations and communicate updates.
  • Ensure accurate incident reporting, RCA documentation, and SLA compliance.
  • Monitor batch processing and share daily status reports.
  • Maintain documentation and drive process improvements.
  • Supervise team performance, provide mentoring, and ensure process adherence.

Requirements

  • Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • 10+ Yrs Experience and Strong knowledge of IBM AS400 / iSeries (IBM i OS) and system operations.
  • Strong experience in Mainframe Operations (z/OS, JCL), Batch Processing, Console Ops, and iSeries
  • Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure support and LPAR environments
  • Experience with scheduling tools (Control-M, CA7, TWS)
  • Hands-on experience with ITSM/Remedy and incident management processes
  • Strong SLA management and operational governance knowledge
  • Proven ability to lead Sev1/Sev2 incidents and SWAT calls
  • Experience managing 24x7 production support teams
  • Excellent customer communication and stakeholder management
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and RCA capabilities
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and KPI/SLA tracking
  • Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in related technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with an ITIL driven service organization
  • Six Sigma, PMP, and/or ITIL certifications
