About the role
We're looking for a Director of AI Strategy & Governance to join our Lab team and make a difference! Intact Financial Corporation is on a mission to be the best AI shop in insurance, and we are looking for a Director of AI Strategy & Governance to play a pivotal role in this journey. As the Director of AI Strategy & Governance, you will be responsible for establishing and leading the company's AI governance framework to ensure the responsible, ethical, and compliant use of AI technologies across our global operations. You will be a key leader in shaping and nurturing our organization's approach to responsible AI innovation, championing the integration of ethical standards and transparent practices into our AI solutions. This role is critical to building and maintaining trust with our customers, regulators, and stakeholders as we continue to leverage AI to transform the insurance industry. This role reports to the Vice President, Data and AI. What you'll do here: Administer Intact's AI Governance Framework: Lead the maintenance and continued development of an enterprise-wide AI governance framework, policies, and procedures. This framework will address the entire AI lifecycle, from data preparation and model development to deployment and monitoring, including the tracking of financial benefits. Lead GenAI enablement and adoption across business units, including the adoption playbook, as well as support for selecting the right GenAI tools to maximize business value while managing risk. Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Stay ahead of the rapidly evolving global AI regulatory landscape, including the EU AI Act, and ensure that all of Intact's AI systems and practices are compliant with applicable laws and regulations. You will be responsible for systematically validating compliance with AI regulations. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate AI-related risks, including algorithmic bias, data privacy, model inaccuracies, and security vulnerabilities. You will develop robust risk management frameworks to manage these risks effectively. Champion our AI strategy story: Oversee the Strategy team responsible for coordinating and creating strategic presentations that effectively convey the company's AI, data, and digital strategies, vision, and value proposition. The function of this team involves monitoring progress against strategic objectives through collaboration with the Lab management team, participating in strategic planning forums, preparing briefing notes for senior executives, and interacting with senior stakeholders to support decision-making and advance initiatives. Ethical Oversight and Responsible AI: Champion the ethical and responsible use of AI across the organization. Promote transparency, fairness, and accountability in all AI-driven decision-making processes.
