Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in purchasing preferred

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of purchasing experience
  • TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS
  • Product knowledge and overall understanding of procurement
  • Basic understanding of computers and computer systems
  • Ability to work within a team atmosphere
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective time management and organization skills

The Technology Purchasing Specialist is responsible for managing the procurement of hardware and software products for client engagements and sales opportunities within RSM's Technology practice. Working with internal consultants, sales teams, vendors, and clients, this individual coordinates product sourcing, pricing, and purchasing activities to support business objectives and meet client requirements. The ideal candidate must: Ensure hardware and software orders are accurate and aligned with client requirements, budgets, and delivery timelines. Communicate product availability, order status, and tracking information to internal stakeholders and clients. Develop and maintain vendor relationships to identify pricing opportunities, promotions, and cost-saving solutions. Complete accurate asset entry and maintain procurement records for purchased products. Participate in knowledge transfer and cross-training initiatives to support team effectiveness and business continuity.
