Nurse-Family Partnership succeeds by having specially educated nurses regularly visit first-time moms, starting early in the pregnancy and continuing until the child's second birthday. Research consistently proves that the partnership between a nurse and the mom is a winning combination that makes a measurable, long-term difference for the whole family. Position Summary: The Public Health Intern with the Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) Program is an exciting way to get acquainted with the world of maternal-infant health. This is a non-clinical role, which is designed to be a combination of administrative and community outreach support to the program. Duties and Responsibilities: Learn the overall methodology of the NFP brand, client base, service delivery goals and all other aspects of service we provide. Assist with the responsibility for the supportive administrative tasks assigned (i.e., Note taking during staff meetings, filing, corresponding with nurse-home visitors and/or clients Assists with designated projects that identify potential partnerships and/or topics that benefit NFP Engage with clients via telephone and/or email regarding scheduling and survey follow ups Attend community outreach events as an Ambassador of the NFP Program and a member of the Acenda Team Other duties as assigned. Learning Objectives: Throughout the duration of the internship, the intern will learn how to: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address complex social issues and improve service delivery. Gain hands-on experience in case management, documentation, and reporting in compliance with regulatory standards. Engage in community outreach and education, promoting awareness of prevention resources and services available to individuals and families. Exhibit professional behavior reflecting agency culture. Improve verbal communication with internal and external customers.
