GS-7: To be eligible at the GS-7 level, you must meet ONE of the following: Specialized Experience, Education, OR a combination of Education and Experience OR Superior Academic Achievement. Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in Federal service or equivalent paid/nonpaid experience in the private or public sector working in a legal environment assisting with processing electronically stored information (ESI) by organizing, labeling, and preparing files for review or production; maintaining tracking logs for electronic and paper records; using computer applications and databases to enter, retrieve, update, sort, search, and organize information in accordance with established procedures; preparing documents for distribution by copying, scanning, and formatting materials; and providing administrative and technical support by responding to routine inquiries, following instructions, completing assignments timely, and using office software and equipment to support operations. OR Education: Completion of one (1) full year of graduate level education (18 semester hours or the number of credits your school uses to describe one graduate year of academic study) in a related field such as Criminal Justice, Paralegal Sciences or Law leading to a master's degree Or a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's Qualification Standards. OR Combining Education and Experience: A combination of graduate education and specialized experience may be used to meet qualification requirements if the combined percentage equals 100%. GS-9: To be eligible at the GS-9 level, you must meet ONE of the following: Specialized Experience, Education, OR a combination of Education and Experience. Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in Federal service or equivalent paid/nonpaid experience in the private or public sector processing electronically stored information (ESI) using litigation support technology or eDiscovery software; organizing, extracting, and preparing files for review or production; maintaining records of electronic evidence and ensuring secure handling and tracking; supporting document review databases through file loading, basic quality control, searching, tagging, and organizing data; and assisting with the preparation of electronic discovery productions by applying Bates numbering, basic redactions, formatting files, and conducting quality checks. OR Education: One of the following types of education in a related field such as Criminal Justice, Paralegal Sciences or Law: a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.B. or J.D.); OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree. Education at the graduate level must be in an accredited college or university and must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. OR Combining Education and Experience: A combination of graduate education and specialized experience may be used to qualify. Graduate education must exceed one full year. GS-11: To be eligible at the GS-11 level, you must meet ONE of the following: Specialized Experience, Education, OR a combination of Education and Experience. Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in Federal service or equivalent paid/nonpaid experience in the private or public sector performing litigation support assignments using a variety of methods and software applications to process complex or high-volume electronically stored information (ESI); evaluating data types and developing workflows; analyzing and managing electronic evidence by validating data usability, resolving processing issues, ensuring data integrity, and maintaining secure handling and tracking procedures; designing and administering document review databases using advanced search strategies and analytics; and leading complex electronic discovery productions by developing production strategies, ensuring compliance, conducting quality control, and resolving technical issues. OR Education: One of the following types of education in a related field (e.g. Criminal Justice, Paralegal Sciences, or Law): a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.M.
