Job Description Monday - Friday, weekend availability. $17-18/HR DOE Job Summary: The Lead Server is responsible for ensuring the residents' dining experience is pleasant and positive, providing the highest-quality dining service that considers resident preferences and exceptional customer service, while maintaining dining areas, seating residents, and serving meals. They are also responsible for overseeing the work of other Servers during meal service, ensuring smooth operation, maintaining service standards, providing guidance when needed, and assisting with all aspects of dining services as required. Duties & Responsibilities: Act as a point person for Servers during shift, overseeing work during meal service, serving as a communication link relaying orders, special requests, and providing guidance when needed. Assist in training staff, imparting knowledge about procedures, menu items, and service standards. Address and resolve minor issues or resident concerns that may arise during meal service, escalating more complex problems to the Supervisor. Assist in inventory management, ensuring dining room supplies are replenished as necessary, and contributing to the overall readiness and setup of the dining areas. Assist in food preparations for special meals and events. Attend daily pre-meal meetings and taste food. Fulfill the responsibilities and perform all the duties of the Server job description. Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, residents, and guests following established safety standards, policies, and procedures. Understand and comply with Federal, State, and local regulations, and company policies and procedures concerning the department. Promote and lead with a spirit of teamwork and open communication through consistent mentoring, coaching, and recognition program utilization, in alignment with MBK principles and core values. Perform other duties as assigned or directed by Supervisor, Director of Dining Services, or designee. Education and Licenses/Certifications Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent (GED), required. Must meet and maintain all state-specific regulatory requirements, such as Food Handler Certification. Experience Requirements (in years): 6+ months of prior work experience as a server in a similar industry or work environment. Exposure to restaurant operations or the ability to learn. Required Competencies : Must be 18 years or older or have a proper work permit and authorization documentation. Must complete required Background clearances, health screening, and provide negative TB test results within 7 days of employment (must be within the last 6 months). Basic counting skills as required by the position (tracking meals/residents, etc.). Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak, write, understand, and read English. Must be able to operate standard serving equipment (salad bar/heating cart, trays, etc.). Must possess the ability to always deal tactfully and professionally with personnel, residents, family members, guests, vendors, and the public. Must meet and maintain all state-specific regulatory requirements, such as Food Handler Certification.
