Requirements

  • SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
  • Medication administration training with competency
  • Experience supporting or leading a care team within a care environment
  • Confidence supporting individuals with complex needs, including mental health or behavioural support
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A calm, patient and professional approach

Additional Information

Oaklea Dementia Care Unit, within Ashlea Court Care Home, is part of Willinbrook Healthcare and provides specialist dementia care for up to 26 residents. The unit offers a structured, supportive and homely environment designed to meet the needs of individuals living with dementia. Senior Care Assistant Contract £14.00-£14.50 per hour DOE Dayshift Contracted to 44 hours per week Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract) Role Overview As a Senior Care Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality, person centred care for individuals with complex needs, including advanced dementia, mental health conditions and other long term health challenges. You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered safely within a structured and supportive environment. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents' physical and emotional wellbeing and respond appropriately to changes, including behaviours or complex needs. Working closely with the wider team, you will support and guide Care Assistants, helping to maintain a calm, stable and consistent environment. You will follow and review care plans, ensure accurate record keeping and contribute to effective communication with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals. This role requires a confident, calm and resilient approach, with the ability to support both residents and staff in a complex care setting.
