Journeyman Field Welder

Helical Pile Solutions is seeking a Journeyman Field Welder to join our team based out of our Nisku, Alberta location. You must have good safety awareness, good communication & competent decision-making skills, and a desire to perform requested duties with a focus on safety and appropriate precautions. Skill/Effort Requirements - Journeyman certification required (CWB certified) - Minimum 3 years welding in an industrial or manufacturing environment; fabrication experience - Ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings - Requires excellent communication skills - Able to work well with a diverse workforce - Able to project a positive attitude Responsibilities - Perform welding duties using wire welding GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), FCAW (Flux CoreArc Welding), or SMAW (Stick Welding) - Weld steel components with welding equipment as specified by procedures, layouts, blueprints, diagrams, work orders, or oral instructions. Welds range from simple tacks to complex welds, performed in varying positions. - Work includes set-up, laying out work using fixtures and guides to repair, modify, or fabricate parts and/or equipment products - Operate and/or use related equipment and tools which include forklifts, hoists, slings, grinders (portable & bench), cutting torches, hand tools, drills, punches, a tape measure, and Air Arc. - Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; follow manufacturer's instructions; troubleshoot malfunctions; call for repairs and complete the daily check sheets. - Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, blueprints, work instructions, and procedures. - Maintain level of work performance in accordance with standards and/or job order specifications. - Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations - Performs other duties as assigned - Willing to perform/engage in mechanical repairs when welding duties are not required - Able to perform field service repairs/work in remote locations Extended Healthcare Plan (Medical, Disability, Dental & Vision) Group RRSP Group Life - AD&D - Critical Illness Insurance Training & Development Employee Assistance Program - Counseling
