About the role

As an IT Specialist (APPSW) with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, Office of the Chief Information Officer, Data & AI Engineering Division, Software and AI Engineering, you will design, develop, test, and maintain artificial intelligence and application software solutions in cloud-based Agile DevSecOps environments. Basic Requirement: Applicants must have Information Technology (IT) related experience that demonstrates proficiency in each of the following competencies. 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND For the GS14: In addition to the basic requirement above, applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service n the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors), performing application software and artificial intelligence solution development that includes: Designing, developing, testing, implementing, or maintaining application software using programming languages, frameworks, databases, or software development tools; Developing, integrating, testing, or maintaining artificial intelligence or machine learning solutions, such as models, algorithms, natural language processing, or data analysis methods; Using cloud services, deployment pipelines, or DevSecOps practices to deliver, monitor, secure, or maintain application software solutions; Evaluating software requirements, technical issues, testing results, security considerations, performance concerns, or data limitations and recommending implementation approaches; and Communicating technical requirements, solution options, risks, progress, or limitations to customers, stakeholders, product owners, or development teams. You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
