About the role

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30 June 2027 in the first instance. The University of Cambridge is seeking an IT Systems Support Administrator to join our Education Services IT Systems Support Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the systems that underpin recruitment, admissions, and student administration across the University. Key responsibilities Deliver responsive customer-focused IT support , troubleshooting issues and resolving service requests Investigate and resolve incidents and problems , escalating where appropriate Provide application and database support , including routine maintenance and performance monitoring Contribute to process improvement initiatives and service enhancements Deliver training and guidance to users to support effective system use. About you You will bring a strong combination of technical aptitude and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of users. You will have: Experience providing IT support to users , resolving issues and handling service requests Proven customer service skills Ability to prioritise workload and manage competing demands Strong communication skills , both written and verbal A proactive approach to learning new systems and improving processes Experience working in an IT environment supporting operational services Familiarity with ITIL practices or experience delivering training or user guidance would be desirable, as would experience of working within a UK Higher Education environment.
