Job Description Purpose of the role To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. Accountabilities Development and maintenance of React-based components following modern design system principles, ensuring components are accessible, performant, and thoroughly documented. Collaboration with designers to translate design tokens, specifications, and interaction patterns into reusable, production-ready components that maintain design fidelity. Creation and improvement of developer documentation, code examples, and usage guidelines that enable engineering teams to efficiently adopt design system components. Implementation of comprehensive testing strategies including unit tests, visual regression tests, and accessibility audits to ensure component quality and reliability. Participation in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and maintaining high standards of code quality across the component library. Adherence to accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and inclusive design principles, ensuring all components meet accessibility requirements and work across assistive technologies. Contribution to build pipelines, release processes, and tooling improvements that support a scalable, versioned component library. Active engagement with consuming teams to understand their needs, gather feedback, and continuously improve component APIs and documentation.
