Architectural Designer

Responsibilities

• Job Summary: Generally responsible for performing routine drafting and design assignments using theoretical knowledge and practical design methods. This work will be performed under direct supervision.
• Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Familiarity with and utilizing department design and drafting standards.
• Familiarity with project scope, specifications and design criteria upon assignment to a project task team.
• Assisting in accomplishing drafting activities in preparing drawings and sketches.
• Assisting in accomplishing field survey to ascertain current conditions, assess design solution, communicate with client personnel and assist in construction administration.
• Preparing material take-offs from drawings.
• Recognizing and communicating scope and design changes promptly.
• On-site assistance during construction.

• Ideal Background
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associate degree in CAD/design and/or Bachelor of Architecture is preferred.
• Certification: Certification is not required at this level.
• Experience: This position requires a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in Architectural drafting and design or related coursework.
• Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
• Knowledge and application of building materials in respect to drafting.
• Drafting of plans, elevations, sections & details.
• Knowledge and application of company architectural design and CAD drafting standards.
• Level 2 Revit 3D and Autocad.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Virtual team skills and cross divisional relationships continue to develop, and providing interoffice execution support under close supervision.

• Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.
