About the role
St John's Street, Oxford Part-time (0.5 FTE), fixed-term for two years This is a great opportunity for a qualified archivist or curator to work on a world-leading archive serving the field of Egyptology internationally, to contribute to the production of new multi-level online catalogues, and ensure the collections' proper care. The postholder will collaborate with the Griffith Institute's team to develop content promoting the Institute's collections and their use within the field of Egyptology. The successful applicant will have a professionally recognised qualification in archives management, digital curation or related subject, or equivalent experience. They will be familiar with metadata and indexing standards employed in cataloguing such collections, as well as possessing a good working knowledge of archive cataloguing software, and of the legal and ethical context of work with modern archives. They will bring strong time management, planning and monitoring skills; fastidious attention to detail; excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and in a team. They will also have experience of conservation, digitisation and reprographic issues. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
