About the role
This position is located within ATO, Mission Support Services (AJV), Aeronautical Information Services (AJV-A), Obstruction Evaluation Group (AJV-A5) in support of the National Airspace System (NAS). OR Education Substitution: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. Specialized Experience includes: Experience as a technical specialist in the full range of complex technical obstruction evaluation (OE); evaluating aeronautical cases in accordance with OE principles to reach technically sound conclusions; applying OE principles and airspace management practices to assess the reliability of data and recommend mitigation measures or conditions that preserve NAS safety. To qualify for this position at the FG-13 level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one (1) year of Specialized Experience equivalent to the FG-12 level. Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized Experience includes: Experience as a subject-matter expert providing high-level technical aeronautical and operational advice to other specialist related to obstruction evaluation (OE) principles; ensuring quality control of complex aeronautical information procedures by providing subject-matter guidance to other specialists related to the development, evaluation, and maintenance of aeronautical studies; and recommending changes in policies, procedures, or specifications as it relates to the obstruction evaluation standards for products and processes.
