Chief AI & Infrastructure Scientist

About the role

We are seeking a world-class AI and infrastructure leader to define and build the next generation of AI systems, AI infrastructure, and intelligent computing platforms. This role extends far beyond traditional AI research. The successful candidate will bridge Foundation Models, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI Infrastructure, HPC, Networking, Distributed Computing, and Silicon Systems, while leading the development of commercially successful AI products and platforms. The ideal candidate combines the vision of a scientist, the execution capability of a systems architect, the mindset of a product leader, and the leadership of a technology executive.

Responsibilities

• AI Strategy & Technology Vision
• Define and execute the company's long-term AI and infrastructure strategy.
• Identify emerging opportunities in AGI, Foundation Models, AI Agents, Inference Systems, and AI Infrastructure.
• Establish the technical roadmap for next-generation AI platforms and intelligent systems.
• Drive innovation that creates sustainable competitive advantages.
• AI Products & Commercialization
• Transform advanced AI technologies into scalable products and services.
• Drive product strategy from concept through commercial deployment.
• Work closely with enterprise customers and strategic partners to solve real-world business challenges.
• Build differentiated AI capabilities for enterprise and hyperscale customers.
• AI Infrastructure & Systems Architecture
• Lead architecture, optimization, and deployment across:
• Foundation Model Training Platforms
• AI Inference Platforms
• GPU Clusters
• AI Supernodes
• RDMA Networking
• High-Performance Storage Systems

• Silicon-Aware AI Optimization
• Research & Innovation
• Drive innovation in LLMs, multimodal AI, reasoning systems, AI agents, and next-generation intelligent systems.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities for strategic differentiation.
• Foster a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
• Team Building & Leadership
• Build and lead a world-class AI and infrastructure organization.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain top scientists, architects, and engineers.
• Establish technical standards, engineering processes, and innovation frameworks.
• Drive collaboration across AI, software, networking, hardware, and silicon teams.
• Communicate effectively with customers, executives and board members.
• Required Qualifications
• Technical Expertise
• PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related disciplines.
• Deep expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and large-scale AI systems.
• Exceptional software engineering and programming skills, with the ability to design, build, and optimize large-scale production systems.
• Strong system design capability, with a deep understanding of software architecture, scalability, reliability, performance optimization, and maintainability.
• Demonstrated engineering craftsmanship and coding excellence, with a proven track record of developing high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Expert-level proficiency in PyTorch and/or TensorFlow.
• Proven ability to design, optimize, and deploy large-scale AI systems.
• Must be willing and capable of remaining hands-on in critical technical areas despite operating at a leadership level.
• Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and execution, with the ability to drive complex initiatives from concept to production.

• Proven experience building and leading high-performance technical organizations.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams across research, engineering, infrastructure, and product functions.
• Strong strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities.
• Demonstrated success in delivering both technical innovation and commercial outcomes.
• Highly Desired Qualifications
• Experience working across Foundation Models, AI Infrastructure, HPC, Networking, and Silicon Systems.
• Experience building large-scale AI products, AI platforms, or cloud AI services.
• Experience operating and optimizing GPU clusters at scale.
• Significant contributions to major open-source projects.
• Experience collaborating with semiconductor, networking, and hardware teams.
• Previous experience at organizations such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google DeepMind, Meta AI, NVIDIA, Microsoft AI, xAI, AWS AI, CoreWeave, Tesla AI, or equivalent institutions.
