- ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Instructional Design Duties
- Collaborate with faculty to design and develop instructionally sound learning materials and assessments aligned with learning objectives
- Support development and alignment of learning outcomes with course content
- Apply instructional design principles to create engaging learning experiences across modalities (in-person, hybrid, online)
- Use learning technologies, LMS platforms, and authoring tools to develop instructional content
- Evaluate instructional needs and assist in course and training redesign
- Provide instructional design consultation and technical support to faculty
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance instructional quality and accessibility
- Develop and maintain instructional templates, guides, and design standards
- Assess effectiveness of instructional materials and recommend improvements
- Stay current on instructional design trends and best practices
- Academic Scheduling & Data Coordination Duties
- Maintain course schedules, room assignments, and related data in university systems
- Support semester scheduling processes and faculty assignment updates
- Perform course clean-up and data validation each term
- Assist with scheduling data management in PeopleSoft and related systems
- Provide user support and training on scheduling processes and systems
- Maintain documentation of scheduling workflows and procedures
- General Duties
- Manage assigned projects and priorities to meet deadlines and unit needs
- Ensure accuracy, quality, and professionalism in all deliverables
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Knowledge of instructional design theories, learning sciences, and pedagogical best practices
- Experience designing and developing instructional materials in higher education or professional training environments
- Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, or equivalent) and instructional technologies, including authoring and multimedia tools
- Ability to translate complex content into clear, engaging, and accessible learning experiences
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices (e.g., ADA, WCAG)
- Experience collaborating with faculty, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of academic scheduling processes and/or university course management systems (preferred), including experience with data systems such as PeopleSoft or equivalent ERP systems
- Strong organizational, time management, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions.
