Engineer in Training, Mine Operations

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Engineer Supervisor, Mine Operations, the Engineer-in-Training (EIT), Mine Operations will be responsible for supporting operational technologies within the department and leveraging data in ad-hoc reporting, studies and investigations. This role works closely with colleagues across technical services, operations, and external contractors to ensure alignment and successful outcomes. To be successful, we are looking for someone with strong communication skills, proven leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in, Mine or related Engineering discipline (or equivalent experience and certification)
• Registered or eligible for registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC)
• Minimum of 1-2 years previous work experience in an open pit mining environment with previous experience using WENCO Fleet Management Systems or equivalent (preferred)
• Intermediate to advanced computational skills (SQL, VBA, Power BI and Office 365)
• A strong desire to apply technical and operational knowledge in the continuous improvement of the operation
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Ability to multitask and effectively troubleshoot problems are essential skills for this role
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent
