About the role
As Engineering Manager for our Amsterdam-based Savings & Investments engineering team, you will own the day-to-day leadership, delivery, and development of a team of senior engineers working on the core of our platform. You will report directly to the S&I Engineering Director and work closely with our S&I Architect, product specialists, and client-facing teams. This is a people-first leadership role . WHAT YOU WILL DO Lead and develop a team of senior engineers based primarily in Amsterdam, with full ownership of performance, growth, and team health Drive delivery of product and platform initiatives with clarity on scope, timelines, and trade-offs - and communicate these proactively to stakeholders Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence within your team Partner with the S&I Architect to ensure technical decisions align with the platform strategy and long-term vision Collaborate with product specialists and client success teams to translate business requirements into executable engineering plans Establish and maintain clear metrics for team performance, delivery quality, and operational health - and act on them Actively embed AI tooling and an AI-first mindset into how your team designs, builds, and ships software Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and retaining top engineering talent Identify and address risks early - whether technical, delivery-related, or people-related WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Experience & background Proven experience as an Engineering Manager leading teams of 6-12 senior engineers Background in financial services, fintech, payments, insurtech, or enterprise SaaS - you understand regulated, production-critical environments Experience delivering complex software in C#/.NET or a comparable strongly-typed stack; you can have an informed technical conversation without being in the weeds Track record of building delivery structure: OKRs, RAG reporting, sprint discipline, and metrics that actually drive decisions Demonstrated ability to develop engineers - not just manage them Mindset & approach Results-oriented: you set clear goals, hold yourself and your team accountable, and don't mistake activity for progress AI-native: you actively explore how AI tooling can accelerate your team's output, improve quality, and reduce toil - and you bring your team along on that journey Direct and honest communicator - you surface problems early, propose solutions, and don't wait for someone else to call it Comfortable with ambiguity: you can operate in a scaling organisation where not everything is defined yet Dutch language skills are a plus, though not required - we work in English WHAT WE OFFER A leadership role with real ownership at a company that is scaling into Tier 1 financial institutions A collaborative, international engineering culture across Amsterdam, Barcelona, and Bratislava Competitive salary and benefits package Hybrid working (3 days per week) from our Amsterdam office (Rokin 111) The opportunity to shape how AI changes the way a fintech engineering team works - not as a buzzword, but as a practical daily reality If this sounds like the role you have been looking for, we would like to hear from you.
