Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the management, operation and organizational effectiveness of the IR team
  • Collaborate with IR physicians, nurse educator, and other team members - internal and external - to ensure optimal patient care
  • Leads, coaches, and mentors staff to foster a positive atmosphere that supports team building, collaboration, and educational strategies to enhance staff knowledge

  • Observes, understands and ensures staff and departmental compliance with Hospital and departmental policies and procedures, and with government legislation; adheres to Hospital and departmental mission and value statements
  • Has knowledge of applicable legislation affecting human resources (i.e. Human Rights, Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, etc.)
  • Completion of a recognized program (i.e., Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, Magnetic Resonance, Sonography) or Completion of BScN Baccalaureate in Nursing or Baccalaureate level education with Diploma in Nursing) required
  • Completion of a Master's degree in regulated health profession or recognized equivalent or working towards it
  • Membership in good standing with a Regulated Professional College (CMRITO or CNO) required
  • Completion of a Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) program required
  • 4 - 6 years practice and related experience within a Medical Imaging or Interventional Radiology department an asset
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and motivational skills, with a passion for leading teams
  • Excellent decision-making skills with the ability to form/defend independent judgment and to use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance with UHN standards
