Job Summary This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the facility by performing routine janitorial and custodial duties. The Janitor supports daily facility operations by ensuring all workspaces, restrooms, common areas, and building interiors are consistently clean, organized, and presentable for employees, visitors, and customers. The intended impact of this role is to promote a professional appearance, maintain health and safety standards, and contribute to a positive workplace environment. We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated individual who takes pride in cleanliness and works well independently as well as part of a team. Success in this role looks like consistently clean facilities, timely completion of assigned tasks, adherence to safety procedures, and positive feedback from staff and visitors regarding the condition of the facility. This person cares about cleanliness, organization, safety, reliability, and maintaining high standards of facility appearance. This role utilizes skills in cleaning procedures, time management, organization, communication, teamwork, and safe handling of cleaning equipment and supplies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, offices, hallways, and common areas Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors and carpets Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly Replenish restroom and cleaning supplies as needed Clean windows, mirrors, fixtures, and other surfaces Maintain cleanliness of entrances, walkways, and exterior areas as assigned Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to the Facility Manager Follow all company safety procedures and proper chemical handling guidelines Operate cleaning equipment and tools safely and effectively Support special cleaning projects and facility setups as needed Ensure janitorial closets and storage areas remain clean and organized Other responsibilities, initiatives and ad-hoc projects as required. Internal and External Relationships Facility Manager Operations and administrative staff Employees and visitors throughout the facility External vendors or maintenance contractors as needed
