Role Summary EQ Retirement Solutions are looking for a Procurement Specialist within our Procurement department . The main purpose of the role is to deliver savings, value, innovation and compliance across procurement activities, supporting sourcing projects, supplier governance and commercial management, while working collaboratively with the wider Procurement team and business stakeholders. Core Duties/Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Managing and running all category‑specific sourcing events, including RFx activities and supplier selection Delivering sourcing support for Procurement and business stakeholders across defined spend areas Developing sourcing strategies aligned to business needs and Procurement frameworks Managing supplier onboarding, due diligence and compliance activities Conducting detailed analysis, including cost modelling, benchmarking and category insights Supporting negotiation activities and helping secure value‑driven commercial outcomes Drafting and preparing sourcing documentation, including RFIs, RFPs and evaluation tools Maintaining accurate data across procurement systems, reports and sourcing pipelines Supporting contract management activities, including renewals, extensions and variations Ensuring suppliers meet contractual obligations, service levels and performance expectations Engaging regularly with stakeholders to align procurement priorities with business objectives Providing regular updates and reporting to the Procurement Manager and wider team Working closely with Finance teams to support savings tracking and commercial planning Contributing to continuous improvement of procurement processes and best practice The duties and responsibilities outlined above are to be regarded as broad areas of responsibility and do not necessarily detail all tasks which the post holder may be required to perform. Skills, Capabilities and Attributes The ideal candidate will have the below skills, capabilities and attributes essential or preferred. Strong knowledge of procurement governance, compliance, and contract law. Strong communication skills, able to build positive stakeholder relationships Negotiation and conflict‑resolution capabilities Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Experience managing sourcing activities and supplier performance Commercial acumen with understanding of cost drivers and financial analysis Ability to prioritise competing work and manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong organisational skills with attention to detail Experience working with suppliers across multiple geographies (preferred) Knowledge of procurement processes and sourcing best practice Ability to collaborate, influence and work cross‑functionally Understanding of risk management principles Awareness of regulatory requirements relevant to procurement MCIPS qualification (complete or working towards) preferred
