We are looking for candidates with a track record of clinical excellence and academic contributions as demonstrated through training and/or practice experience. This position is full or part-time, 50%-100% This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location. This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years. Applicants for this position will be considered for the titles: Assistant Professor (CHS), Associate Professor (CHS), Professor (CHS), Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Professor, Visiting Associate Professor, or Visiting Professor. The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist. Key Job Responsibilities: Provide clinical service to pediatric pulmonology patients at UW Health Kids locations. Engage in clinical teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students, and support the teaching and clinical research missions of the division and department. Carry out independent research/scholarly activity in an area of interest (CHS Track only) Participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health (applicable to Physicians hired on the Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) track)). An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members. Department: School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pulmonology The Division of Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine is focused on improving the health of children with lung diseases and breathing and sleep disorders. Its doctors are specialists who diagnose and treat patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions, from chronic cough to lifelong disorders including cystic fibrosis, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and pulmonary hypertension. Division members provide family-centered, community-based, culturally competent, coordinated, and interdisciplinary care. The multidisciplinary clinical team includes physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, psychologists, social workers, dietitians, and respiratory therapists. The division has a robust outpatient pediatric sleep program and a sleep laboratory in which to perform polysomnography and treat children with a variety of sleep-related problems. The division also has active clinical and research programs in cystic fibrosis, neuromuscular respiratory disease, aero digestive issues, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, interstitial lung disease, and pulmonary hypertension. The division staffs one of the top cystic fibrosis centers in the nation and is part of the Cystic Fibrosis Therapeutic Development Network.
