Responsibilities

  • Solid working knowledge of network management and monitoring products; experience with SNMP-based monitoring tools in environments of 1,000 or more network devices
  • Proficiency in Perl, Python, and shell scripting - you write real automation, not just quick fixes
  • Working knowledge of SNMP MIB analysis, trap parsing, and SNMP table polling; experience configuring monitoring systems to manage Cisco and multi-vendor environments
  • Familiar with networking and routing protocols including TCP/IP, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS - enough to understand and troubleshoot what you're monitoring
  • Able to operate independently from day one - you come in, assess the environment, and get to work without needing someone to walk you through it
  • Able to produce polished technical documents independently and to a professional standard
  • Understands how project financials and forecasting work; independently manages your own forecast

This role is for an Engineer I with a strong Linux background, deep experience in network monitoring platforms, and the coding skills to automate and extend what those platforms can do.
