C12 develops reliable & application-specific quantum computers, to solve complex computing tasks, currently out of reach of even the most powerful supercomputers. Building a quantum computer still needs innovators who are ready to tackle exciting challenges. At C12, we are convinced that a new material for the qubit will bring a technological breakthrough. At C12, the fundamental building block of the quantum processor-a qubit-is constructed using ultra-pure carbon nanotubes suspended above a silicon chip with control electrodes and superconducting resonators. This high-purity material minimises errors, enhances performance, and reduces hardware overhead for fault-tolerant computing. Spin qubits coupled to a microwave resonator offer exciting possibilities for control, manipulation, and circuit architecture. The suspended isotopically pure 12C nanotube significantly improves stability by reducing sources of decoherence, such as charge noise, nuclear spin noise, and phonon relaxation. Leveraging well-established semiconductor techniques, carbon nanotubes hold great promise for scaling quantum computing, much like silicon in classical computing. Founded in 2020, C12 is a fast-growing start-up, who recently raised EUR 18 million in 2024 to further its research in its own lab in the heart of Paris (Panthéon). You should join us if...
