General Description: This is for the 2026-2027 school year. Assists the VPI Teacher in implementing the instructional and socialization program. Tasks performed are specific and recurring; procedures are outlined in detail. Employee has some control over own work, but ultimate responsibility lies with assigned teacher. This position may be required to ride the bus with students as needed. Job Description: Essential Job Functions: Assists the preschool teacher to ensure the safe arrival and departure of children each day. Assists teacher in supervising children during center instruction; helps develop instructional materials. Carries out program activities with small groups of children including "plan, do and review", gross motor skills, play activities, teaching personal hygiene and social skills. Prepares breakfast and lunch for children during center time; supervises children during these meals with VPI children. Monitors behavior and enforces disciplinary rules. Assists VPI teacher with home visits, parent workshops and activities as deemed appropriate. Attends training and staff development as deemed appropriate. Consistently demonstrates a positive and professional attitude, a willing spirit, as well as a sense of team commitment and a pleasant demeanor. This position may be required to ride the bus with students as needed. Carries out other duties as assigned.
