Responsibilities
- Course Design and Development
- Collaborates with instructors and subject matter experts to design and develop online, blended, and web-enhanced courses across a range of health sciences disciplines
- Leads faculty and staff through the instructional design process and makes key recommendations for instructional strategies using evidence-based design models
- Manages course design and development projects and maintains online development resources, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet defined quality standards
- Oversees the planning and coordination of materials with course instructors and the instructional design team
- Designs online modules and manages the course review process for quality assurance
- Translates complex subject matter provided by faculty and staff into clear, engaging, and learner-centered instructional content
- Applies instructional sequencing and curriculum mapping techniques to support coherent course and program design
- Instructional Media and Technology
- Designs, develops, and evaluates all instructional media products provided by Academic Technology
- Researches, reviews, and recommends software, multimedia applications, and web-based educational technologies appropriate for health professions education delivery
- Evaluates and implements media tools and software to enhance faculty-created content and learner engagement
- Provides pedagogical and technical support to faculty for creating online instructional content, including lecture capture, interactive modules, and multimedia integration
- Stays current with emerging instructional technologies and makes recommendations for tools that improve instructional quality and accessibility
- Supports integration of learning technologies within institutionally supported platforms (e.g., Canvas, Mediasite, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Poll Everywhere)
- Knowledge of Articulate Storyline 360 or similar rapid online authoring tools preferred
- Training and Support
- Develops training materials to assist faculty and staff in the development of sound instructional media and online courses
- Conducts both small group and large group training sessions for faculty on instructional design needs, including onboarding sessions for faculty new to online course development
- Creates self-help documents and online tutorials to assist instructors with course management tools

Requirements
- Master's degree in Instructional or Learning Design and Technology
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and educational technologies.
- Knowledge of various instructional technologies implemented at Texas A&M University (Canvas, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.).
- Advanced skill level in the development of instructional materials.
- Experience in the creation and conducting of instructional media trainings for staff and/or faculty.
- Knowledge of State institutions regulations regarding the implementation of educational technologies.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
- Knowledge of online course design principles and practices
- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications
