About the role

We are seeking a motivated, disciplined, and detail-oriented Technical Costs Estimator (Sales) to join our team at CoGri Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, part of the globally recognised CoGri Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day preparation of technical, commercial, and cost proposals for CoGri Malaysia's project tenders. Working closely with Technical Sales Managers, Operations teams, and Regional Management, the candidate will develop technically sound and commercially competitive tender submissions, ensuring compliance with Group processes, commercial standards, and client requirements. The role plays a critical part in securing projects by delivering accurate cost estimates, effective risk assessments, and high-quality tender documentation within established timelines. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in technical estimating, commercial analysis, project costing, and client negotiations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical solutions and prepare detailed cost estimates for construction and engineering tenders.
  • Prepare commercial quotations and tender submissions in accordance with Group standards and approval requirements.
  • Liaise with Technical Sales Managers, Operations teams, and Regional Management to ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible and commercially competitive.
  • Maintain and update pricing databases for materials, equipment, subcontractors, labour, and logistics costs.
  • Monitor tender progress and maintain accurate records in the Project Tracker system.
  • Support tender clarifications, commercial negotiations, and contract reviews to ensure compliance with Group requirements.
  • Analyse client terms and conditions and identify commercial risks requiring management review.
  • Assist with project handovers to Operations upon successful contract award.
  • Support regional estimating and tendering activities as required.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • More than 5years of experience in commercial construction and subcontract experience is essential
  • Excellent knowledge of Malaysia construction market
  • High level of attention to detail and discipline in execution of works
  • Willingness to work in a detail orientated environment
  • Effective communication skills to interface with clients, consultants and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Proactive, hands-on attitude with strong ownership of work
  • Ability to manage and contribute across multiple concurrent projects
