About the role

As a Product Designer , you'll lead the design and evolution of a high-impact macOS application for one of our clients. You will be the primary design owner, translating high-level client goals and complex business requirements into elegant, scalable, macOS-native product experiences that meet a high bar for quality, usability, and craft.

Responsibilities

  • Translate high-level client goals into concrete, actionable design strategies and detailed macOS-native interfaces
  • Lead the end-to-end design lifecycle, from discovery and wireframing through high-fidelity UI and implementation-ready specifications
  • Own design execution from concept to launch, self-directing daily workflow and priorities with minimal oversight
  • Build and maintain robust, scalable design systems, including documented component libraries and modern Figma/Sketch workflows
  • Design polished, premium-feeling interfaces for complex workflows, with strong attention to typography, layout, interaction, and motion
  • Document complex interactions and final design specifications clearly for client engineering teams
  • Collaborate directly with client stakeholders, product teams, and engineering partners to align on priorities, constraints, and execution
  • Maintain consistency and quality across product experiences in a way that reflects Monks Technology Services standards

  • Qualifications & Skills
  • 7+ years of relevant product design experience, with a strong focus on UI for applications featuring complex interactions and dense workflows
  • Proven experience designing for SaaS platforms and translating technical requirements into simplified, user-friendly experiences
  • Expert-level proficiency in Sketch and Figma , with strong mastery of Sketch highly preferred for this engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to design, build, and implement sophisticated design systems that support long-term product scale
  • Strong technical acumen, including an understanding of desktop software constraints and macOS-native interaction patterns
  • Exceptional craft in typography, layout, interaction design, and motion design
  • Highly meticulous approach to design documentation, specifications, and feature handoffs
  • Ability to operate autonomously in a client-facing environment and drive projects forward with minimal oversight
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain design decisions clearly to product, engineering, and client stakeholders
  • Experience prototyping native interactions in Xcode/SwiftUI , or using tools such as Principle or Flinto , is a plus
  • A dedicated interest in UI component architecture and design system governance is a plus
