Responsibilities

  • Support the specification of required products and services to facilitate sustainability improvements.
  • Assist the review of contractor's environmental and sustainability tender documentation with particular emphasis on environmental and sustainability regulations and requirements.

  • Manage Sustainability advisors to deliver our sustainability RIIO-T3 commitments

Requirements

  • The postholder will be a strong communicator (written and verbal) and be able to effectively present and report information to all, they will have good influencing and collaborative skills including working with third parties such as contractors.
  • It is essential that the individual has an understanding and awareness of key business drivers and commercial context in which SPEN operates.
  • To be successful, you will have:
  • Degree level qualification, preferably in an environmental discipline.
  • In depth knowledge of Supply Chain Management.
  • Understanding of environmental legislation, regulatory guidance and standards.
  • Understanding of the environmental and sustainability issues associated with supply chains and the methods to manage and reduce (e.g. ISO20400, PAS2080, BS8001).
  • Sound planning and analysis skills - anticipate problems and plan solutions.
  • Ability to plan and deliver work programmes autonomously.
  • Experienced in managing projects, staff and working as part of a project team.
  • Have demonstrable experience in supplier performance development.
