Job Description Ares is seeking a Compliance Technology Developer to join our Legal, Risk & Compliance (LRC) Technology engineering team in Mumbai . This role will design, build, and support technology solutions that enable key compliance workflows and controls across the firm. The position reports to a New York-based Engineering Lead and will work closely with global stakeholders, product and engineering partners, and external vendors as needed. The ideal candidate is a strong software engineer who is an expert-level Pega developer/architect , bringing a proven track record delivering scalable, reliable workflow solutions. Experience in (or exposure to) Legal, Risk, and/or Compliance domains is strongly preferred. This role requires excellent engineering fundamentals, strong SDLC discipline, and a high bar for quality-along with clear communication, attention to detail, and a continuous learning mindset. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Design, develop, and support Pega-based applications and workflows supporting Compliance and broader LRC capabilities, with a focus on scalability, resiliency, and audit-ready outcomes. Serve as a Pega technical expert-contributing to solution architecture, configuration standards, reusable components, and platform best practices. Partner with business analysts, product partners, and engineering leads to translate requirements into technical designs, user stories, and deliverables with clear acceptance criteria. Build and maintain integrations and data flows as required (APIs/services, batch interfaces, data mappings), ensuring reliability, monitoring, and strong data quality practices. Apply strong engineering discipline across the SDLC: design reviews, development standards, code quality, testing practices, release management, and production support readiness. Support production stability through effective troubleshooting, incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement of monitoring and operational runbooks. Participate in peer reviews and promote high-quality engineering practices across the team (testing rigor, performance considerations, secure development, documentation). Ensure solutions align with enterprise standards for security, identity/access controls, logging, traceability, and records/evidence retention. Contribute to ongoing platform modernization and efficiency efforts, including automation and tooling improvements where appropriate. Communicate clearly and proactively across time zones-providing status updates, surfacing risks/issues early, and collaborating effectively with global team members.
