Lecturer, Media Communication, Journalism and Film Production

Responsibilities

• Teach diploma and certificate level modules in media communication, journalism, film production, media production and related areas.
• Prepare and deliver lessons according to the institution's academic schedule and teaching requirements.
• Support at least 800 teaching hours per year as part of the lecturer workload.
• Conduct student consultation, academic support, assessment and feedback where required.
• Support curriculum delivery, lesson planning, marking and module related administration.
• Teach or support modules such as journalism, TV and film production, mass communication, social media storytelling and media production.
• Where relevant, support design adjacent modules such as graphic and media design, UX, UI, print media design or portfolio development.
• Work with academic and programme teams to maintain teaching quality and student learning outcomes.
• Support possible evening and weekend classes where required by the planned teaching schedule.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Media, Communication, Mass Communication, Journalism, Film, Media Production, Graphic Design or a closely related field.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
• Master's degree is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Strong media communication background with clear ability to teach relevant modules.
• Able to teach journalism and film production related modules with supporting evidence or examples.
• Teaching, training, lecturing, facilitation or student facing experience.
• Comfortable teaching diploma and certificate level students.
• Comfortable with a 1 year contract role with no guaranteed renewal or conversion.
• Comfortable supporting at least 800 teaching hours per year.
• Able to support possible evening and weekend classes when scheduled.
• Expected salary should be within the stated salary range, up to SGD 7,000 per month.
• Applicants should be able to work in Singapore without requiring employer sponsored work pass arrangements for this 1 year contract role.

• Work Arrangement
• This is a full time 1 year contract role based in Central Singapore.
• The lecturer will be expected to support at least 800 teaching hours per year.
• Teaching schedules are planned by the institution and may include evening or weekend classes.
• Flexible place arrangements, where applicable, are subject to Head of School approval and are not guaranteed.
• The role includes a 1 month completion bonus upon successful completion of the contract.
• Renewal, conversion or internal movement is not guaranteed.

Additional Information

We are hiring a full time Lecturer for a 1 year contract role with a private education institution in Central Singapore. This role is primarily focused on media communication, journalism and film production teaching at diploma and certificate level. Graphic and media design exposure is useful, but this is not a pure graphic design lecturer role.
