Lecturer, Business and Marketing

Responsibilities

• Teach Marketing and Business related modules to tertiary students
• Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, workshops, consultations, and learning activities
• Develop, review, and update teaching materials, assessments, and module resources
• Set, mark, moderate, and review coursework, examinations, and assessment components
• Provide timely academic feedback and guidance to students
• Support student progression, engagement, and learning outcomes
• Supervise projects, dissertations, research related work, or applied learning activities where assigned
• Serve as Module Leader, Programme Leader, or academic coordinator where required
• Work with internal academic teams on module planning, academic quality, assessment standards, and programme delivery
• Support academic administration, documentation, moderation, audits, and partner institution requirements
• Maintain academic, professional, or industry currency in Marketing and Business related disciplines
• Complete faculty qualification, academic self assessment, or accreditation related documentation where required

Requirements

• Completed PhD in Marketing, Business, Management, Human Resource Management, Communication, or a related business discipline
• Relevant tertiary teaching experience in Marketing modules
• Able to teach at least 1 other Business related discipline such as Management, Human Resource Management, Business Communication, Strategy, or Entrepreneurship
• Experience teaching undergraduate or postgraduate students preferred
• Experience with curriculum delivery, assessment design, marking, moderation, and student consultation
• Able to support module coordination, academic quality processes, and programme requirements
• Evidence of recent scholarly, professional, industry, or academic engagement relevant to the teaching discipline
• Comfortable with a full time, 1 year contract arrangement
• Comfortable with a minimum teaching load of 800 teaching hours per year
• Flexible with teaching schedules, including possible evening or weekend classes
• Able to attend campus or assigned teaching venues as required for teaching, meetings, student support, and academic duties
• Strong communication, classroom facilitation, student engagement, and stakeholder management skills
• Organised, accountable, and able to work within institutional academic standards and timelines

Additional Information

First Konnection is supporting a private education institution in Singapore to appoint a Lecturer, Business and Marketing for a full time, 1 year contract role. This is an academic teaching role, not a corporate trainer role. The lecturer will teach Marketing and Business related modules across tertiary programmes, support student learning, manage assessments, contribute to module delivery, and work with academic teams to maintain teaching standards and programme quality. This role is best suited for a PhD qualified academic or academic practitioner who has taught Marketing modules and can also contribute to at least 1 other business discipline such as Management, Human Resource Management, Business Communication, Strategy, Entrepreneurship, or a related area. Teaching schedules are planned by the institution and may include evening or weekend classes. Full time lecturers are expected to meet a minimum teaching load of 800 teaching hours per year.
