Job Description: Purpose: This position manages the planning activities for the City in regional, urban, and transportation planning areas. Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned. Oversees coordination of division and section activities with other division, sections, and departments. Develops and evaluates plans, criteria, etc. for variety of projects, programs activities, etc. Reviews statistical reports and analyzed market and economic conditions. Develops short- and long-range plans. Serves as member of various committees, task forces, etc. Speaks as City representative before boards, commissions, public groups, etc. Answers the most complex citizen questions and provides assistance. Provides technical advice and assistance to citizens, contractors, departments, management, etc. Develops policies and procedures. Develops and revises operating procedures. Assists in developing division and section budget. Recommends grant application approval. Manages division and section activities. Responsibilities - Supervisor and/or Leadership Exercised: Responsible for the full range of supervisory activities including selection, training, evaluation, counseling and recommendation for dismissal. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
