The position is responsible for providing comprehensive legal services to Maine's environmental and natural resources agencies, including the Department of Environmental Protection, with a focus on Clean Water Act and other water and dam related issues. Assigned duties will vary depending on the needs of the Office and the Division but will typically involve advising agencies such as the Maine DEP with all aspects of administrative law and practice, providing day-to-day general counsel services, acting as counsel to boards and commissions such as the Board of Environmental Protection at public meetings, and handling affirmative, defensive and appellate litigation in state and federal courts.
