Band 6/7 Locum Speech and Language Therapist - Adult Community - London

Responsibilities

• Conducting initial and follow-up assessments for patients with neurological conditions and communication disorders, including stroke, ABI, Parkinson's, MND, MS, dysphagia, aphasia, and motor speech disorders.
• Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
• Providing interventions to help patients regain and improve communication and swallowing function.
• Collaborating with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective patient care.
• Scheduling and managing your own caseload efficiently.
• Documenting and maintaining accurate patient records in line with professional standards.
• Participating in team meetings, case discussions, and supervision sessions.
• Qualifications and Experience :
• HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist.
• Experience working with adult neurological patients, including those with stroke, ABI, Parkinson's, MND, MS, dysphagia, aphasia, and motor speech disorders.
• Experience in community settings is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and their families.
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload and work independently.
• Valid UK driving license is desirable (as this is a community-based role).
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain).

You will be responsible for both initial and follow-up assessments, which are scheduled for you, ensuring a structured caseload.
