Job Description Job Summary The Operations Supervisor is a critical leadership role within power generation facilities, responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and continuous electrical energy production. Manage, schedule, and train personnel, including shift operators and maintenance staff, to maintain operational readiness and support professional development. Prepare and maintain operational schedules, logs, and reports documenting equipment status, production metrics, and maintenance activities. Respond promptly to emergencies and equipment failures, leading troubleshooting efforts to mitigate damage and restore normal operations. Coordinate with management and cross-functional teams to optimize plant performance, recommend operational improvements, and support capital projects or upgrades. Oversee the procurement of equipment, supplies, and materials required for reliable plant operations. Required Skills and Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Strong knowledge of heavy industrial equipment, systems, and control technologies. Demonstrated ability to manage personnel effectively, resolve conflicts, research and conduct grievance hearings, and interpret and apply company and union contracts. Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, guide, and coordinate teams while fostering collaboration and accountability. Ability to analyze operational data, evaluate processes, and make sound decisions in high-pressure or emergency situations. Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with staff, management, and external regulatory agencies. Physical stamina to work in demanding industrial environments, including shift work and exposure to variable weather conditions. Ability to work a 7x7 rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Valid driver's license. Preferred (Additional) Qualifications Technical proficiency with operational software and systems, including Emerson Ovation, GE Mark VIe, and SAP work and asset management systems.
