The Data Engineering Lead is responsible for designing, building, and scaling the organization's data platform and analytics ecosystem. This role leads a cross-functional team comprising data engineers, full-stack developers/engineers, data integrators, data scientist, ensuring seamless data flow, robust architecture, and delivery of insights-driven solutions that enable business outcomes. The role blends technical leadership, people management, architecture design, and stakeholder engagement to deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable data solutions. Responsibilities
- Define and own the end-to-end data architecture, covering ingestion, storage, transformation, integration, and consumption layers
- Oversee integration across the enterprise data ecosystem , ensuring standardised patterns, interoperability, and seamless data exchange
- Oversee the design, build, and optimisation of data pipelines and integration solutions
- Embed best practices in code quality, testing, CI/CD, data governance, and observability
- Support the operationalisation of machine learning models through scalable MLOps practices
- About you
- Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare's Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action
- 8-12+ years' experience in data engineering, software engineering, or data platform roles
- 3-5+ years in leadership roles, managing or leading multi-disciplinary technical teams
- Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise data platforms (data lakes, warehouses, lakehouses ) , ETL/ELT pipelines and integration frameworks
- Strong track record in cloud-based data environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP)
