We are looking for a Senior Business Controller to become the financial business partner to our teams. This role combines strategic finance, business controlling, innovation funding and growth initiatives. You will play a critical role in securing and managing non-dilutive funding while helping leadership make informed investment decisions in a fast-growing deeptech environment. You will work closely with engineers, project leaders, founders and external funding bodies to ensure that innovation programs are financially sound, compliant and scalable. We will trust you with: Act as a finance business partner to the Engineering and R&D teams Identify, evaluate and secure non-dilutive funding opportunities, including WBSO, EIC Accelerator, Horizon Europe and other regional or national schemes. Manage grant applications from initial assessment through submission, compliant reporting and audit close-out Develop budgets, forecasts and business cases for the businesses you are supporting and innovational projects Perform budget versus actual analysis and provide actionable insights Support annual budgeting, long-range planning and strategic decision-making Support selected financial accounting activities, including balance sheet reconciliations and intellectual property-related reporting Contribute to investment proposals, business development initiatives and M&A assessments Act as liaison for external financial auditors during year-end closings, as well as specialized grant auditors reviewing subsidized projects What you'll need to succeed: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, Engineering or related discipline 5+ years of experience in finance, controlling, grants management or strategic finance Strong financial modelling and forecasting skills Ability to translate technical concepts into financial insights Experience partnering with engineering, product or R&D teams Strong attention to detail and compliance requirements Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills Drive for automation. Standardization and optimization

Requirements

  • Semiconductor, hardware, deeptech or high-tech industry experience
  • Experience with WBSO, RVO schemes, EIC or similar funding programs and working with public funding organisations
  • Experience with NetSuite, Google Workspace and Clockwise.
  • Dutch language capability
