Responsibilities

Requirements
- Required:
- Possess a High school diploma or GED
- Possess and maintain ACT 120 standards in accordance with PA law
- Possess or be able to obtain a valid Pennsylvania vehicle license within 45 days of hire date
- Must be able to pass a background check for JNET clearance
- Out of State Candidates must be eligible for PA ACT 120 Certification prior to hire
- Preferred, but not required:
- One (1) or more years of work experience in law enforcement on a college campus
- Pay Range :
- The pay range for this role is $25.05 - $31.30. Compensation will be determined based on the candidates experience, qualifications and demonstrated skills.
- Additional Information:
- At time of hire, candidates must hold a current ACT 120 certification or have a current out of state equivalent.
- Must be able to pass a background check, physical exam and psychological test.
- This position, like all public safety positions, is subject to random drug testing.
- All Public Safety Personnel are also Campus Security Authorities as defined by the Clery Act.
- All Public Safety Officer candidates must be able to obtain and maintain ACT 120 status (Pennsylvania Municipal Police Officer Education and Training Commission certification).
- Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift, move, push, pull, or carry materials weighing from 20 to 50 lbs
- Able to walk, bike and drive
- Able to run, bend, lift, and climb
- Able to quickly respond to critical incidents
- Able to wear body armor
- Able to qualify with a patrol rifle and pistol
