Responsibilities

  • Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls for service on campus or within the campus geography. Patrols campus, conducts vehicle stops, and issues traffic, parking and criminal citations.

Requirements

  • Required:
  • Possess a High school diploma or GED
  • Possess and maintain ACT 120 standards in accordance with PA law
  • Possess or be able to obtain a valid Pennsylvania vehicle license within 45 days of hire date
  • Must be able to pass a background check for JNET clearance
  • Out of State Candidates must be eligible for PA ACT 120 Certification prior to hire
  • Preferred, but not required:
  • One (1) or more years of work experience in law enforcement on a college campus
  • Pay Range :
  • The pay range for this role is $25.05 - $31.30. Compensation will be determined based on the candidates experience, qualifications and demonstrated skills.
  • Additional Information:
  • At time of hire, candidates must hold a current ACT 120 certification or have a current out of state equivalent.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, physical exam and psychological test.
  • This position, like all public safety positions, is subject to random drug testing.
  • All Public Safety Personnel are also Campus Security Authorities as defined by the Clery Act.
  • All Public Safety Officer candidates must be able to obtain and maintain ACT 120 status (Pennsylvania Municipal Police Officer Education and Training Commission certification).
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Able to lift, move, push, pull, or carry materials weighing from 20 to 50 lbs
  • Able to walk, bike and drive
  • Able to run, bend, lift, and climb
  • Able to quickly respond to critical incidents
  • Able to wear body armor
  • Able to qualify with a patrol rifle and pistol

  • The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
  • This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.
