Responsible for monitoring and ensuring a safe and friendly environment for all the aquatic facility members and guests. Will also act as manager on duty when leadership is not available. Key Accountabilities: Monitor patrons using the aquatics facility. Enforce and explain rules as necessary . Ensure the safety and well-being of patrons using the aquatic facility. Responsible for quickly handling all injuries/incidents that occur in the Aquatic Center during your shift and filling out incident/accident reports. Administer first aid as needed. Perform chemical testing and document results for all bodies of water four times a day. Attend all required staff meetings and training. Report any broken or dysfunctional equipment immediately via incident report. Be familiar with all schedules and any posted changes for all facilities. Acts as manager on duty in absence of other leadership. Assist Aquatics Supervisor with the implementation of various programs and initiatives. Other duties as needed/assigned. Minimum Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old. High School Diploma or GED required. Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification with CPR/AED and First Aid or the equivalent certification from other accredited licensing organization. Experience in event organization and management, including volunteer management; particularly swim meet and pool rental events. Some supervisory experience. A high level of emotional maturity, sound judgment and decision-making ability. Strong communication skills both written and verbal, are essential. Ability to positively lead and mentor Lifeguarding staff. Some maintenance experience and willingness to learn pool facility maintenance tasks. Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook; and working knowledge of the member management system, databases, and tools. Experience with Colorado Timing Systems and meet management software. Minimum 1 year experience as a lifeguard in an aquatic facility and supervision of staff. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends with extra availability to work during meet season (Oct-Dec). Lifeguard instructor certification, certified pool operator and experience teaching swim lessons and coaching swim team a plus. The compensation range for this role is $15.00 - $20.00/hour The final wage offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors.
