About the role

The Semester of Service Program gives students a volunteer, project-based opportunity to support real Federal missions, gaining hands-on experience and career-ready skills. To participate, students must be enrolled at least half-time in an accredited institution and participation must be with the permission of the institution at which the student is enrolled. With this project, you will support a Law Enforcement policy and acquisition based project. Applicants will be considered based on their knowledge, skills or abilities related to project needs. The volunteer will leverage DOD and Army policy processes to align a standardized collaboration of five sub-systems of BECS into one holistic interoperable system designed to enhance public safety, first responder situational awareness, and reporting. The project culminates with a drafted BECS policy document that integrates into existing Army regulations, budget resources with justifiable requirements, and improved collaboration across multiple command levels.
