Job Description The Door Person operates as a part of a premium residential community within the portfolio - designed to deliver a hospitality-driven living experience that goes beyond traditional property management. In this environment, service is intentional, personalized, and consistently delivered to an elevated standard. Every interaction contributes to a resident experience that is seamless, refined, and thoughtfully curated. Roles within this community are distinctly different from those at traditional multi-residential properties. They require a heightened level of professionalism, discretion, attention to detail, and service orientation. Team members are expected to anticipate needs, build meaningful relationships, and deliver with polish and consistency across every touchpoint. The Door Person is a highly visible and service-critical role, responsible for creating a seamless and welcoming arrival and departure experience for residents and guests. As the first and last point of contact, they set the tone for the resident experience through presence, professionalism, and attention to detail. Blending hospitality-driven service with strong awareness of building operations, the Door Person supports a safe, organized, and elevated front-of-house environment-facilitating movement, assisting residents, and ensuring a consistently polished experience. The Door Person takes pride in presentation, demonstrate strong situational awareness, and thrive in high-touch, service-driven environments. They have a consistent presence at the building entrance, including outdoor positioning, to ensure a fully managed and elevated arrival experience for residents and guests. The James community is located in Rosedale, one of Toronto's established central neighbourhoods, with close proximity to Yonge Street, Summerhill, and Moore Park. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Resident & Guest Experience (Exterior Arrival Focus) Proactively greet residents and guests at the building entrance, including welcoming residents outside when visible. Open vehicle and entrance doors, assist residents upon arrival, and provide a seamless, elevated arrival experience. Deliver a warm, professional welcome while anticipating resident needs and preferences. Runner Services & Resident Support Provide runner services, including delivery and retrieval of dry cleaning, packages, resident items, and assistance with local errands. Support Concierge and Service Coordinator teams by facilitating resident requests with discretion, care, and attention to detail. Arrival Experience & Entry Management Maintain a safe, organized, and guest-ready entrance environment, ensuring exterior and lobby-adjacent areas are consistently presentable. Manage the flow of residents, guests, vendors, and service providers while coordinating arrivals and access activities. Concierge Support & Coverage Support Concierge operations during peak periods and coverage gaps, including resident assistance, inquiries, and service coordination. Ensure seamless service continuity when transitioning between Door and Concierge responsibilities. Building Presence, Security & Operations Maintain a visible front-of-house presence, monitor access points, manage visitors and vendors, and support emergency and safety procedures. Assist with parcel coordination and daily operations while upholding professionalism, discretion, resident privacy, and service excellence.
