Metadata Technician

About the role

This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, George W. Bush Presidential Library. The Technician will perform duties associated with scanning, indexing, and description of digital images produced from original archival records; creation of technical and structural metadata; administration and data entry of information into one or more networked databases/systems; ensuring archival materials are prepared for eventual publication in the National Archives Catalog. . You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For the GS-09, specialized experience is defined as one year of experience at the GS-08 level, or equivalent, that is directly related to the position, and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience with metadata and formatting in relation to archival and/or artifact collections. AND Preparing digital imaging formats for submission into a variety of systems. AND Making image enhancements and/or modifications to digital images.
