About the role

About the Position: Under the direct supervision of the organization's Administrative Officer (AO), serves as a Supervisory Management and Program Assistant, responsible for providing administrative, procedural, and other office support to the Administrative Office and its clerical programs. Assists with administrative programs and policies and is responsible for a variety of actions which require fact-finding, coordination, recommendations, implementation, and follow-up. Specialized Experience for the GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes performing, planning, and managing the daily administrative functions of an office, including leading or directing staff in areas such as financial support, personnel matters, travel administration, time and attendance, or other areas of office support; using an automated financial management system; and implementing administrative policies/procedures to enhance support service functions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
