Working closely with families, support staff and external professionals, you'll remove barriers to learning and empower pupils to achieve outcomes they may never have thought possible. Belmont Secondary School is an independent specialist school in Rawtenstall for boys aged 11-18 with SEMH needs, easily commutable from Bury, Burnley and surrounding areas. Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, tailored lessons that meet individual needs
  • Lead and develop the Nurture Group provision, embedding nurture principles in daily practice
  • Build strong, trusting relationships that support pupils' emotional wellbeing and development
  • Monitor, assess and track progress, ensuring EHCP targets are met and exceeded
  • Create a structured, nurturing environment balancing learning, routine and care
  • Support and guide support staff, including timetabling and classroom practice
  • Promote positive behaviour and attitudes to learning using consistent, therapeutic approaches
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers and external agencies to support each child's journey
  • About you
  • We're looking for someone who is:
  • A passionate and inspiring teacher committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable pupils.
  • Qualified with QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experienced in supporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Knowledgeable about nurture principles, attachment and child development.
  • Skilled at building positive relationships with children, families and professionals.
  • Creative, flexible and able to adapt learning to meet individual needs.
  • Calm, resilient and confident managing behaviour through restorative approaches.
  • Experienced in leading and supporting classroom staff.
  • Committed to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
  • Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people.
