About the Role The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in Screen Media Production , with a secondary focus on Game Media . This is a balanced teaching and research role forming part of the Bachelor of Communication and Media (BCM) program. The successful candidate will contribute to high‑quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, curriculum development, and scholarly activities aligned with contemporary screen, media, and cultural industries. This role is suited to an academically grounded and pedagogically strong educator with deep disciplinary knowledge in screen media, film, or related fields, and the ability to inspire students through critical, creative, and industry‑aware teaching. Teaching Responsibilities The successful candidate will contribute to teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, with indicative subjects including: Introduction to Screen Media Production Transmedia Storytelling Transnational Media and Culture Industries Game Media Industries Teaching responsibilities include designing and delivering lectures and tutorials, assessing student work, supporting student learning and progression, and contributing to the ongoing development of the BCM curriculum. Courses may evolve over time in line with program growth and academic direction. Research & Scholarly Engagement The role supports practice‑based and/or scholarly research aligned with screen media, media industries, and related disciplines.
