The MIH team consists of experienced industry-leading professionals, focused on logistical, energy and cost-effective solutions to our clients. We are seeking a motivated and reliable HVAC Service Technician - Apprentice to join our MIH team. This entry-level role is designed for individuals looking to build a career in HVAC service and maintenance. The apprentice will work under the supervision of experienced technicians, gaining hands-on experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems in residential and/or commercial settings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior technicians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment
  • Learn to diagnose basic mechanical and electrical issues under supervision
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as filter changes, cleaning components, and checking system performance
  • Safely handle tools, equipment, and materials according to company and OSHA guidelines
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and job reports
  • Communicate professionally with customers and team members
  • Load/unload materials and maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Participate in training programs, certification courses, and on-the-job learning
  • Follow company policies, safety standards, and job schedules

Requirements

  • Completion of an HVAC technical school or apprenticeship program
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in the HVAC trade
  • Ability to work in various environments (heat, cold, confined spaces, ladders, rooftops)
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Basic hand tools preferred; willingness to acquire additional tools over time
  • Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Compensation: $22 - $25 depending on skill, plus benefits
