About the role

You will serve as an Interdisciplinary Engineer/Scientist in the Weapons and Energetics Department of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12/13) or pay band (DP-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in order to perform the duties of an Interdisciplinary Engineer/Scientist. Specialized experiences must include some or all of the following: (1) Applying acquisition policies to oversee complex weapons development and technical project portfolios; (2) Serving as a critical technical authority who actively participated in the flight clearance process while mentoring senior engineers and Subject Matter Experts; (3) Performing work related to budget planning and execution practices to ensure major engineering programs are consistently delivered on cost and schedule; (4) Utilizing technical and financial expertise to chair high-level milestone events-such as Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) and Failure Review Boards (FRB)-ensuring all projects adhere to strict engineering.
