What this job can offer you The opportunity to shape the future direction of Remote's global payroll products Strategic ownership of how compliance requirements are translated into scalable product capabilities Direct influence over product roadmap decisions, regulatory readiness, and market expansion initiatives Partnership with senior leaders across Product, Engineering, Legal, and Payroll Operations The ability to build compliance-by-design principles into products used by customers around the world A high-impact leadership role that helps transform compliance into a strategic business advantage What you bring Product Strategy & Compliance Expertise Deep understanding of global payroll, employment, tax, and labor compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions Experience translating complex regulatory requirements into scalable product capabilities, business requirements, and operational processes Strong understanding of payroll technology, product development lifecycles, and compliance-by-design principles Ability to balance regulatory obligations with customer experience, automation, and commercial objectives Experience supporting global payroll products in highly regulated environments Leadership & Organizational Development Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams within Compliance, Product Compliance, Payroll, or related functions Strong coaching and mentoring capabilities with a track record of building team capability and future leaders Experience establishing strategic priorities, operating models, and governance frameworks Ability to drive alignment and execution across multiple workstreams and stakeholders Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments Strategic Thinking & Risk Management Ability to assess complex regulatory requirements and determine practical, scalable implementation approaches Experience developing long-term strategies that support business growth while maintaining regulatory compliance Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a risk-based mindset Ability to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and risks that may impact product strategy Experience influencing senior stakeholders and navigating competing priorities Stakeholder Management & Communication Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory concepts into clear business recommendations Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, Legal, Operations, and Executive stakeholders Strong facilitation, influencing, and negotiation skills Ability to build trust and credibility across technical, operational, and leadership audiences Comfortable presenting strategic recommendations and regulatory insights to senior leadership
